Hook: What do these phrases mean? “It’s not what you say, but how you say it./Talk is cheap./A picture is worth a 1000 words.” Student respond. Can you communicate without words?
Activity: Line up by birthdays without speaking. Debrief
Lecture: How can effective writing (pathos, logos, ethos) help gain you a job? Explain colloquial, casual, formal.
Activity: Group informal/formal appropriately. Then complete a scaffolded cover letter for your resume.
Homework: College and Career Center Scavenger Hunt (need signature)
Thursday, August 29- Real World Reading and Writing
Journal: Explain your best qualities, even if they seem small.
